{"id":425,"date":"2024-10-17T14:45:05","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T14:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbss.org\/baltic-heritage\/?p=425"},"modified":"2024-10-17T14:46:35","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T14:46:35","slug":"estonian-presidency-of-the-baltic-region-heritage-committee-2024-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cbss.org\/baltic-heritage\/2024\/10\/17\/estonian-presidency-of-the-baltic-region-heritage-committee-2024-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Estonian Presidency of the Baltic Region Heritage Committee 2024-2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estonia holds the presidency of the CBSS from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.\u00a0 During its presidency, Estonia is committed to fostering greater regional collaboration to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Baltic Sea Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safe and Secure Region<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estonia\u2019s presidency will prioritize the role of cultural heritage in regional security. This includes continuing the work of the<strong> Illicit Trafficking Working Group<\/strong> to combat the illegal trade of cultural goods across borders. Estonia will also promote discussions on the importance of cultural heritage as a key element of overall security and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sustainable and Prosperous Region<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A key focus will be on enhancing the <strong>energy efficiency of heritage buildings<\/strong>, sharing best practices, and addressing challenges. Estonia will also support the <strong>Climate Change Working Group<\/strong>, which is exploring ways to protect cultural heritage from the impacts of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regional Identity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estonia\u2019s presidency  will focus on finding solutions for<strong> value conflicts<\/strong> related to cultural heritage, seeking balance between securing biodiversity and preserving cultural heritage.
