Long-term residence and permits<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A foreigner who is a victim of trafficking in human beings may obtain a permanent residence permit if they meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • They are a victim of trafficking in human beings\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • They have resided in Poland for at least one year on a temporary residence permit for victims of trafficking in human beings<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • They have cooperated with law enforcement authorities in the criminal proceedings<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • They have a justified concern about returning to their country of origin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The permanent residence permit gives the victim a right to work in Poland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A Polish identity document may be issued to a foreign victim if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • They have been staying in Poland based on a certificate they have received through the formal identification process<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • They do not hold a travel document, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • It is not possible for them to obtain another document proving their identity.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The foreigner has to apply for the identity document. They are exempt from the requirement to present an ID document when submitting the application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The identity document issued is valid for one year. It confirms the identity of a foreigner but does not confirm their citizenship or authorise them to cross borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The victim may also receive international protection if they prove the existence of a well-founded threat of persecution or a real risk of suffering serious harm. The authority responsible for examining applications for international protection is the Head of the Office for Foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Long-term assistance<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Long-term assistance and social integration aim to ensure that the victim of trafficking fully participates in the decision-making process, has access to their fundamental rights, and participates in economic and social life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      KCIK provides long-term assistance to the victims. It is responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Ensuring safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Helping the person to restore a sense of control and self-determination<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Supporting the person\u2019s mental health<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Avoiding re-victimization<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Supporting empowerment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Assisting with social integration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        To this end, KCIK prepares a tailor-made assistance plan that includes activities and steps such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Accommodation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Social counselling<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Psychological counselling<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Psychiatric care<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Free legal advice and assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Medical assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Attendance in legal, social, and health matters<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Language training<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Educational activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Vocational training<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Employment counselling\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Assistance in finding a job\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Leisure activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Case monitoring and evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Long-term assistance and social integration can be provided in the country where the victim remains, either after the reflection period or after returning to their country of origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The children of the victim are also eligible for the long-term assistance. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
