{"id":2134,"date":"2024-12-16T13:22:43","date_gmt":"2024-12-16T13:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbss.org\/securekids\/?page_id=2134"},"modified":"2025-02-04T09:59:51","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T09:59:51","slug":"conference","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cbss.org\/securekids\/conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-accent-color has-text-color has-link-color has-extra-large-font-size wp-elements-75a971538a781499ae7d8abef6ed3a6a wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strengthening Resilience: <\/strong><br><strong>Child Participation in&nbsp;Disaster Risk Reduction<\/strong> <br><strong>28-29 January 2025, Riga &amp; online<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Secure Kids conference brought together over 80 experts, policymakers, practitioners, and children and youth from across the Baltic Sea region to discuss child participation in diastaser risk reduction.<br><br>The first day focused on the following themes:<br>\ud83d\udd39 What is child participation?<br>\ud83d\udd39 Why is it essential to involve children in DRR?<br>\ud83d\udd39 How can their voices help build more resilient communities?<br>\ud83d\udd39 What are the best practices for engaging children in these processes?<br><br>Through discussions, group workshops, and national and local examples, we discussed how children&#8217;s involvement can strengthen resilience and help create safer, more prepared communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second day of the conference focused on inclusive crisis communication and amplifying children\u2019s voices in disaster risk reduction efforts. Throughout the second day, strategies for engaging children in crises were explored, focusing on effective communication and ensuring their voices are heard.
