Related to this work, you can also start to look for organisations that are working with children. They can be a great asset to you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sub-step 3.1. Choose&nbsp;a target group that will benefit from participating<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Guiding questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Which group of children can benefit most from participation in your work?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which children (age, location,\u2026) can help you achieve your aim?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To the best of your ability, how can you ensure an inclusive group of children (different gender, age, education, disability or culture)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do the target group want to participate (voluntarily) and think the participation is relevant to them?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you asked the target group about their expectations and prepared accordingly?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sub-step 3.2. Look into who is already working with children and find others that can help you<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Guiding questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who else, including other experts and organisations, is working with these groups of children?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are there existing organizations or individuals with expertise in child participation that you can reach out to?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can my project be connected to their work? If yes: how?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What knowledge or resources can they offer to your work?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can they help you get in contact with your target group?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fryshuset.se\/verksamhet\/vi-behovs\">Sweden \u2013 Fryshuset \u201cVi beh\u00f6vs\u201d<\/a><\/strong><br>The Swedish organisation Fryshuset started the initiative &#8220;Vi Beh\u00f6vs&#8221; (&#8220;We are needed&#8221;) aimed at empowering youth and increase a sense of belonging.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pamojagirls.org\/\">Sweden \u2013 Pamoja Girls<\/a><\/strong><br>A project focused on making girls believe in themselves and each other.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.pl\/web\/kgpsp\/wykaz-sal-edukacyjnych\">Poland \u2013 Education Halls\/Rooms<\/a><\/strong><br>A project aimed at learning children about safety awareness.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tools\/Resources:<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/childrenatrisk.cbss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2024\/05\/Mapping-and-assessing-child-and-youth-participation-structures.docx\"><strong>Mapping of exisiting DRR structures<\/strong><\/a> This document helps to aid your understanding of what to look for when investigating already existing organisations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vlga.org.au\/sites\/default\/files\/Engaging_Children_in_Decision_Making_-_A_Guide_for_Consulting_Children.pdf\">Engaging Children in Decision Making &#8211; A Guide for Consulting <\/a>Children <em>Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA)<\/em><\/strong>, <em>p.14-22.<\/em><br>This resource considers things to consider when consulting with specifiic groups of children and chooosing your target group.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The next step is to determine the target group you will work with.
