“Heritage & crisis”
War destroys civilization, culture and society. The current invasion of Ukraine has profoundly influenced our lives, including the priorities of governments and international organizations. Such an event as war has a ripple effect and leaves no sphere of life unaffected – cultural heritage protection faces numerous challenges resulting from the current upheaval. In the face of the unfolding crisis, strengthening regional cooperation and intellectual reflection are important strategic goals for the future.
The National Maritime Museum and the National Institute of Cultural Heritage are organizing a conference “Cultural Heritage & crisis” which will take place on September 12 – 13 in Gdańsk. The conference is a celebration of 20 years of cultural cooperation between the Baltic states within the Baltic Region Heritage Committee (BRHC). The goal of the conference is to diagnose the most current threats, including those of a transboundary nature, and provide an opportunity to discuss new foundations for heritage security architecture.
The conference will be carried out in English.
Participation in the conference is free of charge, applying for participation via the registration form is mandatory.
Please, use this form to register your participation by 31 August 2023.
