Youth Participation
Youth participation in governance entails more than just being heard—it involves having a tangible impact on policies and decisions.
The BSRYF adheres to the principles of Hart’s Ladder of Participation from 1992, ensuring that young people are engaged in meaningful ways, from consultation to full decision-making roles and to avoid any form of non-participation.
The BSRYF advocate for three main goals of youth participation.
- Youth participation in decision making
- Recognise the need of resources
- Paid youth advocates positions within institutions
