CBSS Secretariat joins the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children
The Council of the Baltic Sea States Secretariat is a new and proud member of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. The Global Partnership was launched in July 2016 by the UN Secretary-General. Today, the End Violence Partnership is the only global entity focused solely on Sustainable Development Goal 16.2: ending all forms of violence against children.
Olivia Lind Haldorsson, Senior Adviser and Head of the CBSS Children at Risk unit commented on the decision to join the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children: “Joining the partnership is an important step to deepen and expand our circle of influence together with key actors from around the globe to achieve non-violent childhoods. Our membership is an important link between our work in the Baltic Sea Region and the global agenda to end violence against children. It displays our strong commitment to contribute to, and draw from, international developments, good practice and frameworks to fulfil children’s rights and the Sustainable Development Goal 16.2 so that children in our region – and globally – can grow up free from violence.”
