CBSS Committee of Senior Officials Meeting Convenes in Stockholm Under Estonian Presidency
CBSS officials met in Stockholm under the Estonian Presidency, preceded by consultations with the CBSS Observer States.
On 14 November 2024, senior representatives from the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) convened in Stockholm for a Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) meeting, chaired by Estonia in its current role as CBSS Presidency holder.
The CSO meetings, attended by senior representatives from the CBSS Member States, serve as a tool for decision-making and a platform for advancing on regional cooperation in the organisation’s key priority areas.
Ahead of the meeting in Stockholm, consultations with CBSS Observer States facilitated exchanges on collaboration opportunities. The current ten CBSS Observer States can engage with CBSS initiatives based on their interests and are invited to contribute to the organisation’s work where appropriate.
Additionally, senior officials engaged in discussions with the CBSS Secretariat to assess ongoing initiatives.
In the evening prior to the CSO meeting, the Estonian Embassy in Stockholm hosted a reception for delegates. Estonia currently holds the CBSS Presidency, prioritising cooperation in the CBSS on strengthening resilience and sustainability in the Baltic Sea Region.
