CBSS Youth Ministerial 2025

Registrations for the CBSS Youth Ministerial 2025 are now open, offering a unique opportunity for young individuals aged 18 to 29 from the Baltic Sea Region to engage in meaningful dialogue and contribute to policy development.

Under the current Estonian CBSS Presidency, the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) will host the CBSS Youth Ministerial 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia, on 4–7 May 2025. This event offers a valuable platform for young leaders across the Baltic Sea Region to participate in high-level discussions on key democratic challenges.

Empowering Youth in Policymaking

The CBSS Youth Ministerial 2025 will focus on key issues affecting democracy, including:

  • Dangers to democracy regarding youth and digitalisation
  • Digital participation in elections
  • Participation in civic security as a norm

Through expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants will have the opportunity to engage with policymakers and the CBSS Committee of Senior Officials (CSO). The event’s key outcomes will be presented to Foreign Ministers at the CBSS Ministerial in May in Tallinn, ensuring that youth voices contribute directly to regional policymaking.

Who can apply?

The call for participation is open to individuals aged between 18 and 29, residing in or nationals of CBSS Member States. The selection process will aim to ensure a diverse representation, taking into account gender and geographical balance, along with the motivation and backgrounds of applicants. Approximately 20 participants will be chosen, with a special invitation extended to those active in youth organisations or councils, or the Baltic Sea Region Youth Forum (BSRYF).

Logistics and support

The organisers will cover travel, accommodation, and main catering expenses for the selected participants. Accommodations will be arranged in a centrally located hotel in Tallinn, ensuring a comfortable stay for all attendees. Detailed travel arrangements will be communicated to the selected participants after the closure of the application period.

The event, organised by the Estonian Presidency of the CBSS, is a unique opportunity for young people passionate about policymaking and intergovernmental affairs to contribute to meaningful discussions and develop a deeper understanding of regional cooperation.

A detailed agenda for the Youth Ministerial will be available soon.
