CBSS Receives Swedish Funding to Strengthen Efforts Against Human Trafficking
Sweden allocates SEK 2 million to the CBSS to enhance efforts to combat human trafficking.
On 31 March 2025, the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) was granted SEK 2 million by the Swedish Government Offices to support activities aimed at strengthening efforts to combat trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation.
Key initiatives will include an international police conference in 2025, as well as training and exchange programmes for Ukrainian police officers and prosecutors.
The funding covers both long-term strategic measures and practical initiatives designed to support professionals working with target groups and affected individuals. It includes efforts addressing all groups vulnerable to trafficking for sexual exploitation, with a particular focus on young people and LGBTQI individuals.
