Conference: Competence building, assistance provision and prevention of trafficking in human beings for labour exploitation
It is the pleasure of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings (CBSS TF-THB) to invite you to the online conference Competence building, assistance provision and prevention of trafficking in human beings for labour exploitation – Addressing trafficking in human beings from a wider perspective.
The conference is carried out under the auspices of the Lithuanian CBSS Presidency and is the culmination of the project Competence building, Assistance provision and Prosecution of labour exploitation cases in the Baltic Sea Region (CAPE) co-ordinated by the CBSS and the Ministry of Interior of Latvia. The conference will gather representatives of state authorities, NGOs, international organisations, academia, law enforcement officials and other professionals from the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.
The event will consist of interactive discussions were both presenters and participants are provided with an opportunity to comment and ask questions regarding the most emerging challenges on the topic of labour exploitation.
Items and interactive panels to be presented:
- Joint Statement of commitment to work against human trafficking for labour exploitation in the Baltic Sea Region.
- Rethinking the concept of preventing and combating trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation.
- Recruitment of migrant workers and labour law – do we risk facilitating forced labour and trafficking for labour exploitation without knowing it?
- Increasing individual and community resilience to forced labour and human trafficking for labour exploitation.
