Webinar: Supporting parents of child victims of online sexual violence – You are Enough™ groups

Learn about the You are Enough™ parental peer support groups for parents of child victims of online sexual violence.

Children growing up in the digital age are increasingly exposed to risk of sexual abuse and exploitation online. Project 2KNOW aims to understand these crimes and build sustainable and effective mechanisms to support victims and their families.

In the third webinar of the four-part Project 2KNOW webinar series, specialists from the Finnish child-rights NGO, Protect Children will introduce an evaluation summary of piloting the You are Enough™ – online crimes peer support groups in Ireland and Finland. The report sheds light on the devastating impact of online child sexual abuse and exploitation on victims and their families. The evaluation summary will focus on families’ experiences from parents’ and caregivers’ perspective during lengthy criminal proceedings and healing processes including the resembling trauma symptoms victims and parents often exhibit and importance of professionals’ trauma-informed approach when working with families affected by online sexual violence.

Project 2KNOW

Project 2KNOW is a two-year project funded by the EU which aims to improve data collection on violence against children and to offer a scalable parental peer support model for carers of child victims of sexual abuse. The project partners include Protect Children, the University of Eastern Finland, and the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).
