Exploring Uncomfortable Heritage: Reflections from the CBSS Spring School 2024

On 10-15 March 2024, emerging researchers from around the globe gathered at the former manor in Kulice, near Szczecin, Poland, for the CBSS Spring School 2024. Hosted by the University of Szczecin’s International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, this year's event delved into the theme of 'uncomfortable heritage' and its role in shaping collective memory.

Winners of the BSR Cultural Pearls 2024 title announced by the international jury

An international jury has announced the cities awarded the BSR Cultural Pearls title for the year 2024. The municipalities of Svendborg (Denmark), Kiel (Germany), Jakobstad (Finland) and Rūjiena (Latvia) were chosen from among 12 candidates from the countries around the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). These cities prepared Culture and Social Resilience Action Plans aimed at making their communities more resilient through culture and creativity.
