The 19th Conference of Prosecutors General Held in Finland
The 19th Conference of Prosecutors General convened in Finland on 13-14 June 2022, focusing on key regional legal challenges.
At the invitation of Finnish Prosecutor General Raija Toiviainen, Prosecutors General, Directors of Public Prosecution, and other representatives from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and Sweden met on 13-14 June 2022 in Helsinki, Finland.
Representatives of the Network of Prosecutors on Environmental Crime in the Baltic Sea Region (ENPRO) and the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) were also in attendance.
The conference focused on enhancing cooperation in prosecuting environmental offences, addressing new trends and challenges in the investigation and prosecution of digital criminality, and discussing the situation in Ukraine and its impact on Baltic Sea Prosecution Authorities.
In Helsinki, continuing the precedent set at the Stockholm meeting in 2012, it was decided that the Conferences of the Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecution of the Baltic Sea States would occur biennially, with Germany hosting the next meeting in 2024.
