New Handbook Released on Forensic Child Interviews for Trafficking Cases

A handbook aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of forensic interviews with children suspected of being trafficked has been published.

The CBSS and the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control (HEUNI) have recently collaborated to publish the Handbook for forensic child interviews in presumed trafficking cases. This publication aims to support professionals in conducting investigative interviews in presumed cases of child trafficking.

Based on research and practical experiences from practitioners, the handbook includes case examples and interview excerpts. It draws on evidence-based interview protocols and introduces general core principles and specific features crucial for investigating suspected cases of child trafficking.

Currently available in English and in Finnish, the handbook is expected to be released in other languages soon.
