Make a difference by joining the CBSS Youth Working Groups and contribute to a better Baltic Sea Region! Topics for 2024-2025: Culture, Safe and Secure, Anti-Trafficking, and Child Participation in Disaster Risk Reduction.
All young people aged 16-29 and from or living in the Baltic Sea Region are invited to join our Baltic Sea Region Youth Forum Working Groups and collaborate towards regional prosperity!
For the past few years, CBSS has coordinated various youth working groups. Now, through the Baltic Sea Region Youth Forum, with the support of CBSS, you can join either the Culture or Safe and Secure Working Groups.
The groups will meet online 1-2 times per month to discuss relevant topics and work on a common output.
The Culture Working Group will focus on youth councils at cultural institutions. The Baltic Sea Region has a variety of practices, and the working group is exploring these variations to better understand youth participation in the cultural sector.
The Safe and Secure Working Group is a developed concept aimed at supporting CBSS projects in the areas of anti-trafficking, child protection, and civic security. Approximately 15 participants will divide the work, focusing on bringing youth input into project outputs that will assist NGOs and the public sector in safeguarding children, youth, and society. The work will be split into two focus groups that will work independently while supporting each other. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend relevant events in Stockholm.
The Anti-Trafficking Focus Group will support the PEX-BSR project, which aims to update, improve, and translate guidelines for NGOs on how they can help identify and assist trafficking victims. They will review the materials with experts and provide a youth perspective to ensure the content is user-friendly. Additionally, the group will collaborate with CBSS and project partners to produce a joint public statement advocating for a stronger fight against human trafficking in the region.
The Child Participation in Disaster Risk Reduction Focus Group will support the Secure Kids project, which aims to help public administrations across the region safeguard children. The youth group will review project outputs and provide their perspectives to enhance the material.
Registration for the working groups is open until 20 September 2024, 19:00 CEST.
