Call for Hosting a CBSS Summer University 2026 is Open
Whether in-person, online or in a hybrid format, the CBSS is once again ready to partner with higher education institutions across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.

Universities and higher education institutions in the Member or Observer States of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) are invited to apply to organise and host a CBSS Summer University in 2026. Interested and eligible parties may submit their applications until 30 April 2026.
The framework of CBSS Summer University provides a valuable platform for building partnerships between university programmes in the region. The CBSS Summer University events strengthen academic networks and student exchange across the Baltic Sea Region, while offering students additional learning opportunities and, in many cases, European Academic Credits (ECTS).
Over the past years, the CBSS has supported several Summer Universities in collaboration with partner universities in the region.Traditionally, these initiatives feature a strong pan-Baltic dimension, either through cooperation between at least two universities from different BSR countries or by engaging lecturers from a minimum of three CBSS Member States.
Proposed Summer Universities must relate to at least one of the three CBSS long-term priorities:
- Regional Identity
- Safe and Secure Region
- Sustainable and Prosperous Region
All institutions that meet the eligibility criteria for hosting a CBSS Summer University are encouraged to apply by 30 April 2026 using the application form.
