Second Cultural Pearls Network Conference
From 16 to 19 September 2025, the city of Płock, Poland, will host the second edition of the BSR Cultural Pearls Network Conference, held as part of the BSR Cultural Pearls project.
This international event will bring together representatives from small and medium-sized cities awarded the BSR Cultural Pearls title in 2024 and 2025, alongside project partners from the BSR Cultural Pearls project, funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region, and RESCOM (Resilient Communities Learning Platform) project, funded by the Swedish Institute, including participants from Ukraine and Moldova.
The conference will serve as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, focusing on social resilience and showcasing case studies that demonstrate how culture is strengthening communities across the region.
Participants can look forward to a dynamic and interactive programme, including:
- Learning Lab sessions designed to foster hands-on learning, practical knowledge, and skill development;
- Thematic stage sessions, where Cultural Pearls and RESCOM partners will present case studies, pitch project ideas, and engage in panel discussions based on themes selected during registration;
- Networking group work encouraging spontaneous collaboration and the creation of new project ideas or partnerships. Unlike previous editions (e.g. Helsingborg), this year’s group work will be open-ended, aiming to maximise interaction rather than produce predefined outcomes.
In addition to the working sessions, the conference will feature study visits, cultural excursions, and social activities, offering participants the opportunity to explore Płock’s vibrant cultural scene. As a BSR Cultural Pearl 2025, the city will also present its own community-building efforts, allowing attendees to experience local cultural resilience in action.
With a diverse mix of stakeholders — including city representatives, cultural professionals, and civil society organisations — the conference promises to be a key moment for reinforcing cross-border cooperation and advancing cultural resilience throughout the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.
