We-ID Stakeholders Conference
The We-ID Stakeholders Conference on 16 June in Stockholm will bring together experts, policymakers, and civil society representatives to explore how youth participation can strengthen social cohesion, integration, and democratic dialogue across the region.
On 16 June 2026, the Council of the Baltic Sea States Secretariat will host the We-ID Stakeholders Conference, a key event within the We-ID Consortium Midterm Project Meeting taking place from 15–17 June 2026.
Bringing together stakeholders from policy, academia, and civil society, the conference will serve as a platform for dialogue on the role of youth participation in strengthening social cohesion and resilient democratic communities. The event is part of a series of three thematic stakeholder roundtables organised within the We-ID project, following an earlier event in Berlin and ahead of a final conference in Brussels.
Under the theme “Youth participation – an undervalued resource of integration and democratic dialogue”, invited panellists and participants will reflect on emerging research findings from the We-ID project and discuss how identity, migration, belonging, and democracy are experienced in local communities across Europe.
The conference will particularly highlight the perspectives of young people, including youth with migration backgrounds, and explore challenges related to integration, political representation, and democratic participation. Discussions will also address broader topics such as migration and integration policies, demographic developments, labour market futures, and competing populist narratives.
Note: The conference is a closed event.
