Open Call for the Baltic Sea Youth Working Groups Autumn 2023

The CBSS once again invites young people from around the Baltic Sea Region to join one of four available Baltic Sea Youth Working Groups on Advocacy, Security, Culture and Environmental Sustainability as well as one focus group on Child Protection.

By providing Baltic Sea Youth Working Groups, the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) supports young talents in becoming region builders and gives them the opportunity to share their knowledge and discover ways to apply it in an international environment. This autumn, four different Working Groups and one Focus Group are open for applications.

The CBSS welcomes applications from young people, aged 16-29, interested in shaping the future of the Baltic Sea Region, working on long-term projects with other BSR experts, developing interpersonal skills and gaining valuable experience!

Overview of the four working groups and one focus group:

  • Advocacy Working Group: focus on providing policy papers to decision makers, ensuring young people’s perspectives are taken into consideration when decisions are being made
  • Security Working Group: focus on publishing a youth-written report on disinformation and create collaboration with international organisations
  • Culture Working Group: focus on policy recommendations on cultural cooperation and creating an intercultural dialogue in the Baltic Sea Region
  • Environmental Sustainability Working Group:  focus on creating a handbook on the inclusion of youth organisations in policymaking on environmental sustainability and climate issues
  • Child Protection Focus Group: will take part twice and will mainly function as an educational platform for young people

“The BSY Advocacy Working Group is a perfect opportunity for you to participate and raise your ideas on issues that are important to yourself and the Region. [It] offers a unique opportunity to actively shape the future of the Baltic Sea Region. As a member, you’ll draft letters to Foreign Ministers, influence policies, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Join us and let’s build a better Baltic Sea Region together!”

Jonas Kačkus Tybjerg, member of the BSY Advocacy Working Group

The four Working Groups will meet in monthly online meetings (1,5-2 hours) at approximately 5 pm. The Focus Group on Child Protection will only take place twice in November/December 2023.

The call is open from 25 September to 15 October 2023.

We´re looking forward to your applications!
