German parliamentarians visit the CBSS
German parliamentarians visit the CBSS, address the role and priorities of the CBSS in a changing Baltic Sea Region.
A delegation of German parliamentarians met with CBSS officials during their visit to Stockholm on 31 January 2022, as part of their visit with other Swedish institutions. Sweden currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Led by Anton Hofreiter, the parliamentarians, who were from the Committee on European Union Affairs, notably exchanged on the role and priorities of the CBSS in a changing Baltic Sea Region.
They also touched on the priorities of the CBSS under its current German Presidency, such as offshore wind, dumped munitions, and youth.
The CBSS has a longstanding relationship with parliamentarians in the Baltic Sea Region, especially the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC).
The CBSS will be co-organising the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Youth Forum due to be held in Berlin, Germany in August 2023, as a prelude to the BSPC’s annual conference.
